The Quipu necklace features a twisted braided effect inspired by ancient weaving techniques. Quipu are recording devices fashioned from strings historically used by a number of cultures in the region of Andean South America. Although the Quipus that remain are not fully understood, we do understand that many of the knots represent numerical data, perhaps for astronomy or agricultural purposes.
